I’m going to have to start this blog post with a fist pump. Living just around the corner, I’ve been hoping to photograph a wedding at Hampton Court House for what seems like a lifetime. Thank you so much Ling & David for finally making that happen!
But let’s go back to the beginning for a bit and start the story from Craven House, where Ling and David got ready surrounded by family and friends. Evan Huang created not one, but three different hairstyles for Ling (that is most certainly a record!), which all complimented her beautiful gown from Blackburn Bridal and Repetto shoes by Gina. The beautiful stationery, carrying the Chinese horoscope theme throughout all the little touches on the day, was by messme.
When it came time for the ceremony at Hampton Court House itself, I must say I was completely bowled over by the beauty of the place. I had an idea in my head of what to expect, but my expectations were completely smashed by the gorgeous, grand but slightly shabby chic, character of the house. The cloudy day was brightened by the beautiful flowers created by my beloved Steph from Fairynuff Flowers, that girl is a flower magician! Just to put it out there, I think I’d be quite happy if all my weddings from now on took place at Hampton Court House (with Steph at the flower helm of course), could we make that happen yeah? :D
The ceremony itself was the first Buddhist ceremony I’ve witnessed, and there was a grace and elegance about the proceedings that was very touching. Afterwards Ling & David performed a tea ceremony with their parents and siblings, another first for me.
The reception room had an air of drama with it’s red walls and impressive ceiling hight. There were more gorgeous flowers, and lots of cute touches, such as little origami animals and (yummy!) cake-pops by Cake by Sugar, while Acclaim Food took care of the catering.
What a lovely, lovely day. Thank you so much Ling & David, for your kind and beautiful spirit, and for letting us be a part of your gorgeous day. May you be forever happy wherever your adventures take you in the future! x
