I can’t quite believe how many amazing days I’ve gotten to be a part of already, and the year is only (but also already!) at the halfway point. Soo excited to be finally blogging Cathryn & Alex’s wedding down in Cornwall, and couldn’t think of a better time than Midsummer’s Eve to do it!
Not only are Cathryn & Alex absolute sweethearts, which was obvious already at their engagement session, I just adore their taste in everything, from design to music, so I always had an inkling their wedding would be extra pretty. The whole day took place at the gorgeous Lantallack Farm, and despite having headed down to Cornwall armed with wellies et al. the weather turned out absolutely perfect.
Cathryn had been suffering from a cold in the days leading up to the wedding, but with a little magic from Dare 2 Wear and Amy Jackson from The Whole Shebang, she looked absolutely radiant on the day. The amazing Manuel Mota gown from Pronovias fitted like a glove, and once again I got to indulge in shooting my favourite Jimmy Choos.
A couple of years ago I mentioned that I’d love to shoot some yellow-themed weddings, and oh boy have my prayers been answered this year! I really loved the way yellow and grey ran through the whole day, from the stationery Cathryn designed herself, to the boys’ River Island suits and girls’ Dessy dresses, not to forget the the luurvely flowers by H. Watts Florist.
The Round Kitchen was in charge of the catering, while Born Hectic Events ran the bar and The Cheese Shed was responsible for the cheese in the evening. One of the stars of the day was the beautiful cake, which was created by Cathryn’s mum.
As if the day wasn’t perfect enough already (what with stuff like getting to see how happy and blooming one of my previous couples, Rose & Brendan were, thrown in) the first dance really topped it, not least because the song was the sublimely beautiful Only Love by Ben Howard. *Swoon*.
I tweeted on the day that if I was forced to do the same wedding over and over again, I would be quite happy if it was this one, and I’m not even joking. Thank you Cathryn & Alex for everything, I wish you the best of luck with your new adventures all the way over in Australia! x
