It was a bit like a scene from a stylish movie, or a music video, when Ben and his friends piled out of the car and came to greet us at Marseille airport. They were all just so very cool, in that achingly hip way that only the French can achieve, that I momentarily felt like a frumpy old lady trying to infiltrate a party of hipsters. That feeling soon passed though, as we were instantly made to feel thoroughly welcomed by everyone, and what followed was one of the loveliest days of the summer.
Flora & Benjamin got ready at their home in Marseille with most of their family and friends around them. Les Coiffeurs du Sud was in charge of hair, and Smahane Legouit did a beautiful job on make-up (I think Flora’s face upon seeing her finished make-up is testimony of total success :D). Flora’s stylish three-piece wedding gown was by Louise Dentelle, while her shoes were by JB Martin.
The ceremony of Flora & Ben’s wedding took place at a beautiful church close to their home, before we travelled over to the charming village of Le Muy for a reception in a private house in the French countryside, where Matyasy was in charge of catering and creating the most incredible food.
Apart from the amazing atmosphere and warmth of the people present, there were so many lovely details at this wedding. I just loved the bird theme that ran through the day in a subtle way, from bird cages in trees, to the paper crane escort cards and the cutest bird houses on every table. Videographer Florian Lalanne also captured the day, you can view a short clip of his film here.
Thank you so much Flora and Ben for having us, and for taking such extraordinarily good care of us. You are such beautiful people, inside and out, and your families and friends are simply amazing! I wish you all the happiness in the world. x
