Sometimes it’s hard to put into words just how happy I am to be doing the job I do. I think this sneak peek from Alex & Billy’s wedding in Somerset goes some ways toward explain it. Congratulations Alex & Billy, and thank you for sharing your amazing day with me. I hope you’ll have an incredible time on your honeymoon!
Clare & Dylan | Wedding
There were so many things about Clare & Dylan’s wedding that I was super excited about: Norfolk in spring, sea air, tepees, Clare’s Gucci gown and the gorgeous flowers by Blooming Gorgeous to name but a few. One thing I wasn’t prepared for however was just how windy it would be up there on the coast! Blimey, I’m glad I had my camera to ground me or else I would have surely blown away. :D
Actually, I don’t think I’ll use too many words to describe this beautiful wedding, I’ll let the pictures below tell the story.
Thank you so much Clare & Dylan, and your families, for letting us share the magic!
Elodie & Vianney | Wedding
This blog post has been a looong time coming! Elodie and Vianney’s wedding on the outskirts of Paris was up there when it comes to individuality, hard work and seeing your vision through. While the happy couple were on their honeymoon, Elodie’s mum was sharing the story of preparing for this wedding on her daughter’s blog, and the story really is a testament to how much work it took to put this special event together – including everything from clearing the forest floor to hand-assembling forest-sized decorations and building a dance floor.
After getting ready at her grandmother’s house, Elodie met Vianney at the Place de la Libération in Rambouillet for a civil ceremony. From there we travelled to a little village where, in a beautiful forest, Elodie had created a magical world filled with quirky little details. I have to say the bride herself fitted in perfectly and looked like a little fairy princess in her adorable gown.
I won’t tell you much more with words, as you can read all the details from Elodie’s blog. Instead, I’ll tell the story through the pictures. Enjoy!
Alix & Emmanuel | Wedding
On a beautiful weekend in July we made a long (and rather adventurous!) journey to a picturesque little village in France to cover Alix & Manu’s wedding. Words can’t really do justice to this place, it was like stepping into a postcard, or a fairytale. I have to say, I do love being a photographer! Not only because I get to record memories for my clients, but also because looking at the pictures lets me relive magical events and remember the places I’ve visited myself.
There were so many beautiful details in this wedding that I wouldn’t know where to start, but I have to mention the gorgeous gown that Alix designed herself, which was made at the Maria Lucia Hohan atelier – it really was a piece of art, even more delicate and magical in real life than in pictures!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to my assistant Susanna Hauru, who’s been an amazing help this summer. I’ve certainly had some adventures this year, and I’m glad she’s been there to share most of them!
p.s. Do also check out Alix’s blog for the fabulous honeymoon pictures – oh my, talk about paradise!
Victoria & William | Wedding
Vee & Will got married in a tiny little village called Little Bardfield deep in the Essex countryside. Their intimate humanist ceremony, coupled with a topsy turvy wedding day schedule, created a special day that really reflected their fun personalities. Hill House, Will’s childhood home, made for a magical setting, and the different marquees dotted around the grounds ingeniously divided the outside space into different areas according to the different stages of the day.
There were so many things I loved about this wedding, from the fun relaxed atmosphere and Pimm’s in the garden, to the quirky hat-themed seating plan, but my favourite has to be the gorgeous flowers – they were just beyond beautiful!
I don’t know whether it was the remote location which made the darkness feel darker, but when the evening fell at Vee & Will’s wedding, I realised that this crazy summer has almost come to an end. When we drove off into the pitch black night, leaving the wedding party tearing it up on the dance floor, I found myself feeling quite nostalgic… Not to worry though, the season is nowhere near finished yet, September and October are chock-a-block with lovely weddings to look forward to.
But first, let me take you back to rural Essex….
