A while back I asked Kat, of Rock ‘n Roll Bride fame, to take part in a personal photography project of mine. She was all up for it, and I’m really pleased with the results (which can be seen in my personal portfolio). Somehow Kat managed to persuade me to also take some portraits of her with balloons (despite me protesting about balloons having been done to death :P), and these shots are what came out of that session. It was a blindingly bright and super hot day, not really ideal for an afternoon shoot, but I do like how a fair few of these came out, and I guess I’ll have to admit that the balloons are pretty cute. :D Also, doesn’t her hair just kick some serious ass!
Sarah & Dan | Engagement
Sarah and Dan are pretty special. They were the first ever couple to book me, after I’ve had my website live for just a few weeks. I can’t tell you how fantastic it makes me feel that they would put their faith in me on the biggest day of their lives, knowing that I was only starting up my business back then. They’re the type of annoyingly organised people who booked last year for their wedding this August, so it’s taken a while for us to get around to organising their engagement shoot. Yesterday, on a swelteringly hot day, we finally headed off to Regent’s Park for some photos. The park was absolutely heaving with sun worshipping people, and it took quite a lot of walking trying to find seemingly secluded nooks and crannies in the vast park. And did I mention that it was h-o-t! :D
We also went to have a quick look at their wedding venue, The Landmark Hotel, which was just around the corner. What sumptuous surroundings to have a wedding in, it was truly gorgeous in there. I can hardly wait for the day, it’s going to be awesome!
Hey hey how you doing?
Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing just fine. I’m pretty good myself now that summer has finally decided to grace us with some sunshine. I am a photographer of light, and not having any makes me a bit grumpy. Here’s to having the sun around for as long as possible!
I just want to quickly address all the lovely people who have emailed me about wanting to assist me. I do read all your mails and store your details, but I know I haven’t been very good at replying to everyone. I currently have a permanent assistant/second shooter, but I will keep everyone’s details, as there will inevitably become times when she can’t make a certain date, or when I’ll need an assistant on a short notice. I currently get a lot of inquiries and my time is very limited, so I have to prioritise which emails I get back to quickly. Hence I thought it might be useful for me to post this on the blog in reply to some of you who were wondering why they haven’t heard back from me!
Hmm what else was I supposed to mention. Oh yes! I recently got interviewed for Don’t box us in!, a cool blog showcasing photographers. I’m really honoured to be in such good company, even though it was a total bi** trying to come up with sensible answer to all the complicated questions. :D You can read the whole interview here. Also, a little while back Kat from Rock ‘n Roll Bride featured Lucy & Richard’s wedding in her blog – always an honour. In related exciting news, Kat is taking part in a personal photography project of mine and we’re having a little photo shoot with her at the end of May. So that should be fun, I can’t wait to photograph her amazing hair!

Maesha & Pete | Engagement
We’ve been trying to organise a time for Maesha & Pete’s engagement shoot since the start of the year, but have ended up rescheduling it multiple times over lots of different reasons. Last Monday we finally managed to get together for a shoot, and just in the nick of time as well, since their wedding is coming up in only a couple of weeks!
We had fun walking around the then empty Borough Market looking for interesting textures and chasing the sunlight. At first Pete wasn’t best pleased about having to ‘perform’ in public, but we reassured him we wouldn’t run into anyone he knew. Except of course right after that comment we did run into a friend of theirs just around the corner! :D What were the chances! Either way, both Maesha and Pete were a joy to photograph and they were up for trying any of my, sometimes strange, ideas.
They are such a sweet couple and their wedding is going to be gorgeous, fun and individual, just the way I like it. Can’t wait!
Asko & Matt | Engagement
Asko & Matt are getting married in June, in the middle of a busy schedule of travelling in Italy and in South America, before relocating back to Matt’s home country of Australia. They wanted to get some pictures in their wedding suits, that would also remind them of the two years they’ve spent in London.
So last Sunday we headed into the City on the lookout for some suit-appropriate backdrops. The boys told me that they definitely didn’t want any ‘shmaltzy’ pictures, which ruled out my usual methods of trying to get people to kiss as much as possible in front of my camera. :D I think they look very dapper in their suits, and I’m sure after seeing the evidence, they can now rest assured that they will look damn handsome on their wedding day!
