Fri from Wedding Nouveau wrote a really lovely feature on Sarah & Dan’s wedding. I think the way she told their story really complemented my pictures and added a lot of depth. My own blog posts are pretty slim on the copy side due to lack of time and the fact that I tell my stories via pictures, so it was really lovely to see this wedding featured in this sort of ‘full bodied’ context. Thanks so much Fri!
The Hootons’ award-winning feet
I got a bit of a surprise in the post today. From time to time I take part in competitions that the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers organises and, as it turns out, last month my picture of the family Hootons’ feet won a gold award in the ‘Family and Group Portraiture’ category. What do you know. I had no idea I would be receiving a fancy certificate for it as well, how very posh! :D Must apologise for the poor picture quality, I just snapped it quickly with my phone.
Literally right after opening the envelope the doorbell rang, and it was Sarah with baby Lucinda coming to pick up the hi-res disc from their shoot. While I was cooing over how much Lucinda had grown since our shoot, and showing her how her feet were award winning, I heard the front door close behind me. Yes indeed. There I was, locked outside, sans shoes or a phone or anything. Not my finest moment! After a few minutes of panic, I realised the security lock wasn’t on (note to any would-be burglars, it usually is!) as I’d only stepped outside temporarily, and with the help of Sarah’s slender hands we managed to break me back into the house. What are clients for eh! :D I blame the whole incident on Lucinda and her distracting cuteness. She also seemed suspiciously amused by the whole thing I must say!
And here are the award-winning feet.
Carolyn & Marc on Rock ‘n’ Roll Bride
Since Carolyn and Marc found me via Rock ‘n Roll Bride, I think it’s really fitting that their own wedding has now ended up being featured on the site! Thanks Kat, keep rocking!
Maesha & Pete on the wedding cabaret
Maesha & Pete’s wedding got featured on the awesome Wedding Cabaret blog. Thanks so much Mara! The site has had a pretty snazzy re-design since I last had a wedding featured on there, so you might want to go for a little browse around the place. It’s a true wedding inspiration treasure trove!
The feature is in three parts, click on the links to have a look: Part I, Part II, Part III
Claire & Hywell on Style Me Pretty
In a recent interview I was asked to name just ONE of my favourite websites. An impossible task to begin with, but when I narrowed it down to my favourite wedding related website, the answer was pretty easy. Style Me Pretty is the ultimate in wedding inspiration, and the photography featured there never fails to impress me.
So you can imagine my excitement when last night I found out the lovely Abby had featured Claire & Hywel’s wedding on SMP! I saw the feature just before going to bed and I don’t think I slept a wink after that as I was just smiling from ear to ear all night. :D I can’t tell you how honoured I feel to have been featured on one of my favourite websites. Thank you SO very much Abby!
The feature is in four parts. Go have a looksie! Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV
