It had been raining for what seemed like forever, but on India & Martyn’s wedding day the sun made a spectacular comeback, taking us all by surprise. The glorious weather added to the giddy atmosphere of the wedding day, making everyone even happier than normal. The Bingham in Richmond was the epicentre of activities on the day, from getting ready to the reception, with a beautiful ceremony a skip and a hop away at the Petersham Parish Church in between.
I just love love loved India’s amazing vintage wedding gown from Fur Coat No Knickers, sooo stylish! And her Freya Rose shoes and self-designed veil completed the nostalgic look perfectly. It was also so very cool to watch (the legendary) Elbie van Eeden to work her magic on India’s make-up.
After soaking up the sun in the garden with some canapés, the party moved inside for the speeches and the wedding breakfast. There was a French theme (with a hint of Welsh!) to the reception, with bottles of bubbly, an incredible cake from Ladurée, stationery by Cutture and a delicious combination of lavender and other flowers arranged by Zita Elze. On our way out we once again passed the baton on to the Wedding Smashers who took over the responsibility of getting people in various masks and sparkly gloves onto the dance floor.
What a lovely, lovely day! In a lot of ways it truly felt like the first day of summer, and what would be a more fitting feeling for India & Martyn to start the next chapter of their lives with. Thank you so much for having us guys, we loved every minute! x
