I know, I know, I do go on about the amazingness of my clients quite a lot. But the truth is, I pretty much always fall a little bit in love with my couples, and how could I not really, especially when you get to be part of such incredible experiences as Sarah Anne & Jamie’s wedding on the Isle of Skye for example?
The adventure started when we landed at Inverness airport, where Jamie’s brother Will (aka Chief Groomsman) collected us, and Reel Love Films, for what turned out to be a bit of an epic road trip across the Highlands to Skye – we saw many a castle, drove past Nessie, nearly ran out of petrol in the middle of nowhere, discovered new music, and most of all, already felt a little bit like part of the family when we finally got to the stunningly gorgeous Portree on the Isle of Skye.
The wedding day itself begun with the sun beaming down and Sarah Anne getting ready at her family home, where Kate Butler was in charge of make-up, and Elena Bhioghall for the hair. When the time came to head to St Mary’s RC Church, Sarah Anne looked an absolute knock out in her Martina Liana gown and Vera Wang heels. After the ceremony the festivities kicked off with a cocktail reception in the garden, with the gorgeous views of the Skye skyline as backdrop. After bubbles and canapés in the (apparently uncharacteristic) sunshine, it was time for a traditional Highland march led by a piper to the Skye Gathering Hall for the wedding breakfast and reception.
Cheryl from Premier Wedding Planners was in charge of wedding planning for the reception, while Foukou took care of the catering. Angela Stewart Creative were responsible for the most stylish flowers, and Top Tier Cakes for the cake, which was also decorate with fresh flowers. A pretty lavender colour theme ran through the decorations and the stationery by The Print Fairy.
The whole day was just a whirlwind of sun, laughter, *lots* of people, even more love, and so much happiness. We truly felt like part of the family, which itself was a part of the collective family of the whole island. At the end of the night, when we left Sarah Anne and Jamie on the dance floor, which was jumping from everyone doing the ceilidh, I just felt so happy and privileged to have a job that allows me to be a part of such glorious moments of pure beauty.
Sarah Anne & Jamie (and your families), love you to bits. Here’s to many more perfect memories in your future! x
